Never test the depth of the river with both feet.
Meaning, make a limited trial first. Throw a new dress into the washer and you might be disappointed. First try the treatment on a small, inconspicuous area or a small swatch of what you are planning to use. Use this guide as a starting point and then adjust for what works for you.
Almost everything we sell (cotton, silk, linen, wool, velvets, etc.) is washable. This does not mean that finished garments made out of these same fibers are washable. They might be washable, even though they are labeled 'Dry Clean Only', but they might shrink to be too small to fit your little sister.
